SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device for wireless communication. Method for performing wireless communication with a base station (BS) comprises steps of: generating a primary synchronization signal (PSS) using a first code sequence and a covering code applied to the first code sequence over a first number of symbols in one or more subframes, wherein the covering code comprises at least one of a computer-generated binary sequence, a Walsh code and a Barker code; and transmitting the PSS to user equipment (UE) of a first type, which communicates on one or more narrowband regions of the carrier relative to the wider carrier band.
EFFECT: technical result consists in generation of synchronization signals for operation on narrow band.
