FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, specifically to a system and method for monitoring vital signs. At that, deformation of electrode attached to skin is identified by deformation transducer. Electrode segments with the least degree of deformation are selected from all electrode segments connected to non-expansion lines (NL) underlying soft skin tissue. Signal of the vital function is measured using the selected electrode segment. System comprises a segmented electrode which forms a matrix of electrodes in one plane, a deformation sensor and a processor for processing signals. Contact layer of the electrode for skin adhesion is located on the electrode side facing the skin. Deformation sensor is configured to identify information on electrode deformation. Processor is configured to receive a vital sign indicator signal from the electrode and to process deformation information to remove artefacts from the vital sign signal.
EFFECT: higher effectiveness of monitoring vital signs of patient by reducing/minimizing artefacts of signal, the source of which is skin stretching.
