FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of composite material based on hexagonal nitride of boron and nickel. It can be used in aviation, space or nuclear industry. Method of producing composite material based on nickel and hexagonal boron nitride involves a step of preliminary treatment of powder of hexagonal boron nitride, consisting in mixing powder with solution, stage of preparing reaction solution, stage of chemical nickel plating of hexagonal boron nitride and stage of nickel-plated powder drying; in contrast to known method in process of preliminary preparation powder of hexagonal boron nitride is mixed with solution of organic polymer, obtained mixture is briquetted and briquettes are sent for heat treatment. Then briquettes are crushed into powder, which is classified according to grain composition to obtain the required granulometric composition, and is sent to the stage of chemical nickel plating in the prepared reaction solution containing soluble nickel salt and sodium hypophosphite.
EFFECT: obtaining powder of nickel-plated boron nitride of uniform granulometric composition and bulk density and uniform application of nickel on hexagonal boron nitride.
