SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method of converting a version with an extended dynamic range (HDR-version) of an image into a version with a standard dynamic range (SDR-version) of said image comprises steps of obtaining first information data which indicate presence of colour display parameters; obtaining second information data, which indicate whether the device is configured to convert the HDR version into the SDR version of the image based on said colour display parameters; obtaining third information data which indicate whether conversion of the HDR version of the image into the SDR version of said image is prohibited without taking into account said colour display parameters; and converting the HDR version of the image in accordance with the obtained information data.
EFFECT: technical result is enabling conversion of a version with an extended dynamic range of an image into a version with a standard dynamic range.
