FIELD: calculating; counting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Device comprises a colour conversion determination unit configured to determine a colour conversion given in the colour processing specification data having a tone mapping function, wherein the colour conversion indicates, how the brightness of the pixels of the input image needs to be converted into the brightness of pixels of the second image having peak brightness of the second image corresponding to its maximum code, which is different from the peak brightness of the display and peak brightness of first image, scaling coefficient determining unit configured to determine resultant common multiplicative coefficient, wherein the unit is configured to apply the determination in the direction of the position along the position metric, which corresponds to the peak lightness of the display, and is configured to determine the resulting overall multiplicative coefficient based on the position, and wherein the apparatus further comprises a scaling multiplier configured to multiply each of the three colour components of the colour representation of input colours by the resulting common multiplicative coefficient.

EFFECT: technical result consists in enabling calibration of HDR for various displays on which it may be required to display an HDR image.
