FIELD: image processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for the signal reformation for signals of wide dynamic range. Using a processor, an input image is addressed in RGB linear color space. The first image is generated in LMS intermediate color space by applying RGB to LMS color conversion to the image input. A non-linear function is applied to each color component of the first image to generate color components of the second image in LMS non-linear color space. An output image is generated in IPT-PQ color space by applying 3×3 color conversion matrix to color components of the second image. The non-linear function may contain an inversion of an optical-electronic transmission function.
EFFECT: increase in the reformation efficiency.
