FIELD: image encoding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices for encoding images of a high dynamic range and, in particular, changing brightness of image pixels for conversion of an image to another dynamic brightness range. The present invention proposes several options of a brightness processor made with the possibility of calculation of output brightness of a pixel of an output image having the second dynamic brightness range characterized by the second peak lightness of input brightness of a spatially combined of an input image having the first dynamic brightness range characterized by the first peak lightness.
EFFECT: possibility of better detection of an image with another dynamic brightness range, in particular, characterized by another maximum brightness than an input image.
