FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Method of treating the dry eye disease involves contact of the patient's nose mucous membrane with the first electrode, supply of current from the electrode through the patient's tissues to the return electrode. Electrode is located on the nasal plug-in tube of the stimulator probe, and the return electrode is located on the stimulator body. Stimulator probe is reversibly attached to the stimulator body. In another embodiment, the method is implemented by means of a device for supplying an electric stimulus to the mucosa of a patient's nose. Device comprises stimulator (2740) comprising stimulator body (2744) and a stimulator probe. Stimulator probe comprises a nasal plug-in tube. Distal portion of the nasal plug-in cannula comprises first and second electrodes (2746, 2744). First electrode is configured to supply current. Return electrode (2742) is located on the stimulator probe on the nasal insert cannula base. User interface is configured to allow the patient adjustment of the current value supplied between the first and second electrodes and between the first electrode and the return electrode. Nasal insert cannula is inserted into a patient's nostril. First electrode and the second electrode are placed in contact with the nasal mucosa on the first side of the patient's septum. Return electrode is placed in contact with patient's tissues. Signal is generated for electric stimulation from the first electrode to the second electrode and from the first electrode to the return electrode. Another embodiment of the device comprises a first and a second nasal plug-in cannula, a user interface and is configured to feed a two-phase balanced pulse-shaped signal. First cannula is configured to be inserted into the first nostril and comprises a first and a second electrode. Second cannula is configured to be inserted into the second nostril and comprises one electrode. User interface is configured to allow the patient to adjust the amplitude-to-duration ratio of the waveform. Method for increasing lachrymal fluid production in a patient involves supplying an electrical stimulus in the patient's tissue using a device containing three electrical contact electrodes. Electric stimulus has paths between three electric contact electrodes during delivery. Electric stimuli paths vary in time dynamics during feed.
EFFECT: effective treatment of dry eye disease is achieved, reduced adaptability of the patient to the stimulus by creating a stray stimulus.
