FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and aims at determining severity of obstructive jaundice of non-tumor origin. Patient blood is sampled and analyzed. Albumin toxicity index, total bilirubin content and malondialdehyde content are determined. Based on the obtained data, the obstructive jaundice severity index is calculated by formula:
where OJSI is obstructive jaundice severity index, IT1 – current plasma toxicity index of albumin, ITn – albumin plasma toxicity index in norm, CB1 is current bilirubin content, CBn – bilirubin content in norm, MDA1 – content of malondialdehyde at current moment, MDAn – content of malondialdehyde in norm. OJSI value less than 13 indicates a mild severity of obstructive jaundice, index of 14 to 21 indicates a moderate severity level, index of 22 and more indicates a severe degree of obstructive jaundice.
EFFECT: method provides higher objectivity of determining severity of obstructive jaundice of non-tumor genesis by determining the severity of liver damage and processes underlying it.
