SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used to predict the severity of acute pancreatitis at an early stage on the basis of hepatodepression. Method includes the study of venous blood, while daily, starting from the first day after the patient's admission, the dynamics of the index of toxicity of plasma on albumin, activity of phospholipase A2 and alpha-amylase, the content of malonic dialdehyde, on the basis of which the index of predicting the severity of acute pancreatitis is calculated according to the formula. With the value of the index of predicting the severity of acute pancreatitis less than 3.22 with the trend of decreasing the value indicates a lack of probability of progression of acute pancreatitis; from 3.23 to 4.24 with a tendency to decrease the value – a low degree of probability of progression of acute pancreatitis; from 4.25 and more with the tendency of increase in value – a high degree of probability of progression of acute pancreatitis.

EFFECT: invention allows to accurately and adequately reflect the probability of progression of severity of acute pancreatitis in the early period.
