SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating article containing a flavoring agent distributed in a filtering material and a method of producing filter rods containing a flavoring agent distributed in a filtering material. Aerosol-generating article comprises a substrate which generates aerosol; a mouthpiece comprising at least one segment of filter material; destructible capsule containing an aqueous liquid; and plurality of microencapsulated flavoring agent particles, distributed in at least one segment of filter material, wherein each of the microencapsulated flavoring agent particles contains a flavoring agent encapsulated in a shell containing a water-sensitive material, as a result of which a plurality of microencapsulated flavoring agent particles are characterized by release of the flavoring agent upon contact with an aqueous liquid contained within the destructible capsule.

EFFECT: creation of an aerosol-generating article, which provides a new method for delivery of a flavoring agent to a consumer and provides the consumer with control of the delivery time of the flavoring agent.
