SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol generating product containing a detachable freshener segment. The aerosol generating product contains a combustible heat source and aerosol generating substrate adjacent to the combustible heat source. The aerosol generating product also contains a freshener segment located upstream relatively to the heat source, at least partially covering the upstream end of the combustible heat source and containing a segment of base material, having an annular shape forming a channel passing through at least part of the segment of base material between the upstream end of the segment of base material and the downstream end of the segment of base material. The freshener segment additionally contains at least one freshener delivery element enclosed within the specified channel passing through at least part of the segment of base material. The freshener segment is made with the possibility of being separated from the combustible heat source to open the heat source before using the aerosol generating product. The aerosol generating product additionally contains a wrapper surrounding at least the freshener segment and the heat source and containing an attenuation line passing around the wrapper, so that the freshener segment is made with the possibility of being separated from the heat source by tearing the wrapper along the specified attenuation line, wherein the specified attenuation line lies above an edge of the heat source located upstream.
