FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a flavoring system intended for use in an article of the tobacco industry. Said flavoring system contains a lyophilized herbal material, an activator which, when in contact with the lyophilized plant material, releases a flavoring agent from said lyophilized vegetable material, and removable barrier, preventing contact between lyophilized plant material and activator, so that removing the barrier enables the activator to come into contact with the lyophilized plant material thereby causing release of the flavoring agent from the lyophilized plant material. Vegetable material subjected to lyophilization gives a significantly higher level of the flavoring agent when it interacts with the activator than is possible in cases when the vegetal material is dried by other methods.
EFFECT: lyophilized plant material is able to provide unexpectedly high and preferable level of content of flavoring agent when used in an article of the tobacco industry.
