SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to ophthalmology, and can be used to predict the outcome of penetrating wound of an eyeball in an adult population at the moment of its primary referral to an ophthalmologist. That is ensured by visual acuity and leukocyte shift index after eyeball penetration in adult male population when referring to ophthalmologist. If the visual acuity is less than 0.2 and the leukocyte shift index is 3.0 and higher, an adverse visual outcome of the disease is predicted: blindness or visual or visual enucleation.

EFFECT: invention provides a simple method for prediction of disease severity.
