SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to ophthalmology and clinical pharmacology. A method for diagnosing the etiology of uveitis and predicting the nature of the course is proposed. In a patient aged 20 to 65 years, inclusive, who has an inflammatory pathology of the choroid, blood is taken from a finger for a general blood test. Based on the results of the analysis of the leukogram, the indicator of the marker of viral infections (MVI) is calculated using the formula: MVI=(% neutrophils)/(% monocytes). With MVI from 5.0 to 14.9 inclusive, the acute course of the disease of viral etiology is predicted. With MVI from 15.0 to 43.0 inclusive, the chronic course of the disease of viral etiology is predicted.

EFFECT: invention provides a simple, cost-effective way to diagnose the etiology of uveitis and predict the nature of the course.
