FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of articles from diamond materials, by technology of additive formation of articles from diamond powders of various dispersity, and can be used in mining and electronic industry in production of diamond inserts for drilling heads, as well as when producing elements of passive electronics (varistors, thermistors, and so forth). Method for additive formation of articles from polycrystalline diamond involves successive deposition of layers of natural diamond powder with size of fractions from 1–20 mcm, wherein each layer of powder is applied in accordance with the configuration of the article. After each application of the powder layer, a process of chemical deposition of diamond from the gas phase from a mixture of hydrogen and hydrocarbons onto the surface of a diamond powder applied in accordance with the configuration of the article is carried out. Diamond deposition is carried out in microwave discharge.

EFFECT: technical result of the proposed technical solution is to improve the quality of polycrystalline diamond articles and simplify the technology.
