SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio communication network technologies. Technical result is achieved by receiving, from a base station in a radio network, a message containing an indication of a paging extension for a paging group for the terminal, which terminal is associated with the first coverage class; determining, based on said message, a second coverage class for downlink transmissions from a base station to another terminal; and determining the target paging group for paging expansion by determining a shift from the paging group, wherein the shift is determined based on the first coverage class and the second coverage class.

EFFECT: enabling paging extension of a terminal in a radio network associated with a first coverage class.
