FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a copolymer of isoolefin and a multiolefin and a method for production thereof, comprising a tetrafluorinated propene diluent and suitable for further chemical modification. Copolymer is obtained by bringing into contact at least one isoolefin monomer with 4–16 carbon atoms, at least one multiolefin monomer with 4–14 carbon atoms, in the presence of at least one Lewis acid and at least one initiator at a temperature less than or equal to -95 °C in diluent. Copolymer has content of cyclic oligomers of at least 10 % lower than in the polymer obtained in the same process using 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane as a diluent, instead of tetrafluorinated propene.
EFFECT: copolymer is characterized by low level of cyclic oligomers and low level of isoprenoid structures.
