FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of mineral raw material of chrome-diopside (magnesium-calcium silicate of composition MgCaSi2O6, containing chrome impurity) to produce jewelry ornamental material in the form of melted colored homogeneous colored glass-like samples. Green chrome-diopside glass is obtained by melting using high-frequency heating of mineral chrome-diopside raw materials in a glass-carbon crucible in an inert atmosphere with subsequent overheating of the melt to temperature of 1,600 °C, holding the melt at this temperature until it is clarified and hardening the melt by turning off high-frequency heating, which provides cooling the melt for up to three minutes to 600 °C. Blue chrome-diopside glass is obtained by melting using high-frequency heating of mineral chrome-diopside raw material in a glass-carbon crucible in an inert atmosphere with subsequent melt overheating to temperature of 1,700 °C, maintenance of melt at this temperature until its clarification, reduced melt temperature up to 1,600 °C and subsequent hardening of melt by switching off high-frequency heating, providing for up to three minutes cooling melt to 600 °C.
EFFECT: obtaining ornamental jewelry material in the form of transparent glass-like homogeneous colored chrome-diopside samples of green and blue color with preservation of properties inherent in chrome-diopside for semi-finished materials.
