FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method of operation of an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, which includes correction of injection of a reducing agent depending on concentration of a reducing agent, wherein concentration of the reducing agent is determined based on readings of the concentration and movement sensor of the vehicle. If the reducing agent freezes, a reducing agent stratification is possible, which leads to a violation of the accuracy of the concentration sensor readings. Movement of the vehicle can cause mixing of the reducing agent, thereby providing accuracy of readings of the concentration sensor, which can then be used to correct injection of the reducing agent. Value of reducing agent concentration is additionally determined in compliance with temperature profile of immediately preceding vehicle idle state. Concentration of reducing agent is determined in accordance with vehicle acceleration profile.
