FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to desulphurisation of a heavy oil product by catalytic oxidation of sulfur-containing compounds using microwave irradiation. Method of desulphurization of fuel oil involves catalytic oxidation of organic sulfur-containing compounds contained in an oil product with hydrogen peroxide at exposure to microwave radiation. Oxidation process is carried out with 30 % aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide in the presence of nanodispersed titanium dioxide powder in amount of 1 wt% of weight of heavy oil product, wherein microwave irradiation with frequency of 2,450 MHz is carried out for 1–3 minutes, and subsequent extraction of oxidation products is carried out with an aqueous solution of dimethylformamide.
EFFECT: efficient desulphurisation of oil product for short period of time with possibility of repeated use of extractant, without use of aggressive reagents.
