FIELD: water treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for drinking water softening and purification and can be used for improvement of drinking water purification quality in jug type domestic filters. Disclosed is a gravity filter filtering device for softening and purifying drinking water, comprising a filtering device locking system in a filter funnel with cleaned water inlet and air outlet ports, filter element made of porous block material in form of a hollow vertical vessel with a porous or hermetically sealed bottom with a layer of ion-exchange material located in its inner space and a treated water flow distributor with a fixation element, wherein the ion-exchange material layer is located between the inner surface of the filter element and the treated water flow distributor, made in the form of a vertical or horizontal body with holes smaller than the size of particles of the ion-exchange material. Porous block material of the filtering element is obtained by compression of a mixture of powdered components containing particles of activated carbon and polymer binder when heated. Filtration device locking system is hermetically connected with filtering element.

EFFECT: simplification of design, provision of increased resource of stable softening of water with simultaneous preservation of highly effective water treatment.
