FIELD: water treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for purification of drinking water and can be used for improvement of quality of purification of drinking water in domestic filters of pitcher type. Filtering module of gravitational filter comprises a system for fixing a filter module in a filter funnel, comprising a hole for inlet of purified water and air outlet, a filter element in form of a hollow vertical vessel, which housing is made of porous block material, with porous or tightly closed bottom, or disk made of porous block material. Porous modular material is obtained by compressing, at heating, a mixture of powdered initial components containing particles of activated carbon and polymer binder or particles of activated carbon, heavy metal sorbent and polymer binder. Filtration module fixation system is connected with filter element by means of gluing or mechanical fastening.

EFFECT: development of filtering module of gravity filter for purification of drinking water characterized by simplicity of design and providing high filtration rate combined with high efficiency of water treatment 92–98 % and service life of filtration module up to 450 liters.
