FIELD: water purification.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a porous block filter material for complex purification of drinking water. The filter material contains fine particles of activated carbon and polymer binder. As a polymer binder, a low-crystalline polymer is used, selected from a group of polylactides, polyhydroxyalkanoates, copolymers of 1,4-butanediol, adipic and terephthalic acids with a degree of crystallinity of 5-25% and a softening temperature 20-50°C lower than the melting point. Activated carbon and polymer binder are taken in the ratio (80-95):(5-20) by wt. %, respectively, and have a particle size of 0.05-0.2 mm. A mixture of powdered material with a particle size of 0.05-0.2 mm from activated carbon with a specific filtration surface of 900-1050 m²/g, an iodine number of 900-1200 mg/g, a static copper exchange capacity of 0.8-1.15 mg-eq/g, with a water content of 10-20 wt. %, and polymer binder are subjected to heat treatment by extrusion or hot pressing methods at a compression ratio of the mixture during molding of 12-25% and a temperature 10-35°C below the melting point of the polymer binder.

EFFECT: combination of highly efficient complex purification with high filtration rate with a high water purification resource.
