SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to vision testing devices. Method involves: (a) displaying an optotype image and a plurality of reference images, (b) receiving a response relative to the optotype image, (c) determining whether from a plurality of reference images a reference image determined by a response has the same shape as an optotype image, wherein one reference image from the plurality of reference images has the same shape as the optotype image, and (d) displaying the next image of the optotype selected according to the determination result made at step (c), and the plurality of reference images, wherein two images of the optotype and two sets of the plurality of reference images located respectively on the periphery of each of the optotype images are displayed at steps (a) and (d), so that both eyes of the subject are inspected. Vision testing device comprises an image display unit of an optotype and a plurality of reference images, an input unit for receiving a response relative to the optotype image and a control unit for determining whether from the plurality of reference images the reference image determined by the response has the same shape as the optotype image, wherein one reference image from plurality of reference images has the same shape as the optotype image, control unit selects next image of optotype according to determination result relative to certain reference image and optotype image and outputs selected next image of optotype and plurality of reference images by means of display unit, and the display unit displays two images of the optotype and two sets of sets of reference images located respectively on the periphery relative to each of the images of the optotype, so that both eyes of the subject are inspected.

EFFECT: using the inventions makes it possible to increase the accuracy of the vision test for people with astigmatism.
