Method of measuring refraction error of an eye of a subject using a computer device includes steps of triggering display of a target image in a display region, initiating an instruction for a subject to vary the distance between the subject's eye and said display region to identify a subjective distance between said subject's eye and said display region, on which the subject is able to clearly recognize a given visual element of said target image when viewed with said eye, determining a calculated parameter associated with a refractive error of said eye of the subject, based on input data indicating the subjective distance between said subject eye and said display region, as well as based on the characteristics of the given visual element of the target image and providing output based on the calculated parameter.

EFFECT: use of this group of inventions widens the methods for measuring refraction error of eye of a subject using a computer device.
