SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT OF REFRACTIVE ERROR OF AN EYE BASED ON SUBJECTIVE DISTANCE METERING Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B3/02

Abstract RU 2657853 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, preferably to ophthalmology, and can be used to measure refractive error of a subject's eye based on subjective distance metering. At least one dynamic target image of at least one sign over a display area is displayed. Subjective feedback from the subject indicating that the subject is positioned at a maximum distance of best acuity (MDBA) from the target image is received. Wherein the maximum distance of best acuity is the maximum distance in which the subject recognizes the sign. One or more parameters associated with distance, during the time the subject has reached the maximum distance of best acuity, using at least one sensor are measured. Maximum distance of best acuity is estimated by estimating the distance between the eye of the subject and the display area in which the target image is displayed by using the sensor data. Refractive error of the eye is calculated according to the estimated maximum distance of best acuity and characteristics of the target image.

EFFECT: method and system provide a study of the refractive error of one or more types: myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia and astigmatism; storing and/or outputting the calculated at least one parameter associated with the refractive error of the tested eye; vision correction for correcting cylindrical and spherical power due to analysis and selection of MDBA, measuring roughly estimated sphere equivalent power, astigmatism angle, cylindrical power and spherical power.
