SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a display device. Display device comprises a display panel and a matrix substrate. Matrix substrate comprises base; a thin-film transistor disposed on the surface of the base in a first region; photoelectric sensor located on the surface of the base in the second area, intended for fingerprint identification; and a passivating layer located on the surface of both the thin-film transistor and the photoelectric sensor on the opposite side from the base, a backlight module located on the surface of the matrix substrate on the opposite side of the colour film substrate, a touch sensing unit located on the surface of the coloured film substrate, on the opposite side of the matrix substrate or located between the matrix substrate and the colour film substrate, a control microcircuit chip electrically connected to the thin film transistor, the photoelectric sensor and the touch sensing module, wherein the touch sensing module when detecting the touch signal in a position corresponding to the photoelectric sensor, transmits control signal to control microcircuit chip in order to control photoelectric sensor and thin-film transistor corresponding to photoelectric sensor to ensure start of operation; and a state determination unit configured to determine the operating state of the display device and transmit the determined operating state to the touch sensing module. Touch sensing unit when detecting a touch signal in a place corresponding to the photoelectric sensor determines whether the display device is in a ready state for identification by a fingerprint, and if display device is in readiness state for fingerprint identification, touch sensing module transmits control signal to control microcircuit.
