FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy and can be used in smelting medium-carbon ferromanganese. Method involves melting of manganese concentrate and dephosphorization of manganese-containing oxide melt by blowing melt with gaseous carbon monoxide, wherein after 20 minutes of blowing after reduction of content of phosphorus in melt to 0.01–0.02 %, lime and ferrosilicon manganese are loaded into the bath of the furnace in an amount required for reduction of manganese from oxide melt.
EFFECT: invention is implemented in one melting unit, at the same time power consumption for melting of alloys is reduced and useful extraction of manganese is increased.
