FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy and can be used in smelting low-phosphorus manganese slag to produce commercial low-phosphorus carbonic ferromanganese. Method involves melting manganese concentrate in electric furnace and subsequent dephosphorization of manganese oxide melt by blowing melt with gaseous carbon monoxide, wherein after reduction of phosphorus content in melt to 0.01–0.02 %, coke is charged into bath in amount of reduction of iron and part of manganese from oxide melt to produce said manganese-containing products.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain low-phosphorus phosphorus manganese slag used in production of pig silicomanganese and manganese metal without loss of manganese with an associated dump metal.
