FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing an absorbent article, comprising directing a first sheet material along a rotary member, wherein the surface of the rotary member is provided with a template with at least one suction zone and at least one suction-free zone; applying absorbent material on first sheet material on rotary element; local removal of superimposed absorbent material on at least one connecting section of first sheet material located on at least one area without suction, that at least one remaining section of first sheet material located on at least one suction area is coated with absorbent material, and substantially no absorbent material on at least one connecting portion; second sheet material is applied on top of absorbent material on first sheet material.
EFFECT: absorbent article is disclosed.
