An absorbent product containing an absorbent middle layer is described, which contains absorbent material between the upper wrapper of the middle layer and the lower wrapper of the middle layer, the absorbent middle layer has the first and the second longitudinal edges and the first and the second transverse edges. The absorbent middle layer includes at least one first and one second connecting zones extending near each other in the direction of the first and/or the second transverse edge; wherein, in the first and the second connecting zones, the upper wrapper of the middle layer is attached to the lower wrapper of the middle layer along the connection, which continues for a transverse distance of at least 1 mm, and/or the upper wrapper of the middle layer is attached to the lower wrapper of the middle layer along the intermittent connection in several places at some distance from each other, so that when absorbent material is moistened, the first and the second channels are created in the first and the second connecting zones.
