SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device for determination of losses at ignition of at least one part of metallurgical article at its passage in heating furnace located in front of the breaker. Device contains the first, the second, the third, the fourth and the fifth sensors for definition of heights of metallurgical product before and after a slag breaker and facility for determination of scale falling from surfaces of metallurgical product, scanned by the second, the third, the fourth and the fifth sensors. First electromagnetic sensor is designed for scanning of lower surface of metallurgical article near the furnace outlet. Second and third electromagnetic sensors are arranged in front of the gouging holder. Fourth and fifth electromagnetic sensors are arranged downstream of the slag.

EFFECT: result is accurate determination of scale loss.
