SUBSTANCE: apparatus (10) for heating steel products (100) contains a direct-heating radiation furnace containing a path for supplying steel products (100), which extends between input end (110) and output end (111) for steel products (100), the inlet in accordance with the said input end (110) to ensure entry of the said steel products (100) into the said furnace (11) and outlet (150) in accordance with the said output end (111) to ensure output of the said steel products (110) from the said furnace (11), means for supplying fuel, means for supplying combustibles, including oxygen, and burners (40, 41) capable of controlling combustion of fuel and combustibles. At the same time, the said means for supplying fuel and the said means for supplying combustibles are configured to supply fuel and combustibles in such a way that oxygen is in a substoichiometric or stoichiometric proportion with respect to fuel in at least one part of the said apparatus (10), and the said outlet (150) is provided with sealing device (152) including stuffing box (153) configured to interact with closing door (151) of the said outlet (150) and inert gas barrier means (155) configured to prevent air from entering the said furnace (11).
EFFECT: creating an apparatus for heating steel products, which reduces formation of scale when the products are heated.
