FIELD: wireless communication equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Communication network is accessed by a wireless device associated with a coating class selected from a plurality of coverage classes. Wireless device implements a method comprising obtaining a network access configuration for a plurality of ranked coverage classes from a communication network; initiating network access to a communication network by transmitting a preamble sequence for random access on a physical random access channel, wherein said network access is initiated during an initial capability related to the coverage class of the wireless device; among the possible initial capabilities, which can be used by the higher rank coverage class according to the network access configuration, discard any possible initial possibility of the wireless device coverage class having the PRACH resources, which conflict with resources of PRACH of possible initial possibility of class of coverage of higher rank.
EFFECT: efficient processing of network access for a wireless device in a communication network.
