FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radar ranging and can be used in radar stations (RS) with a flat phased antenna array with one-dimensional beam movement. In radar station with flat phased antenna array with electronic scanning, with one-dimensional beam movement in horizontal plane and having mechanical rotation in azimuthal plane, true azimuthal position of the target is determined by mechanical rotation, with mechanical rotation of the antenna array by a certain angle from the true azimuthal position of the target, determining the direction to the target by means of electronic scanning, then the difference in the azimuthal plane between the angle obtained due to the mechanical rotation of the antenna array and the angle obtained during electronic scanning is determined from the known shape of the azimuth pattern.
EFFECT: enabling measurement of elevation angle of radar targets by a radar station with a flat phased antenna array with electronic scanning, with one-dimensional beam movement and having mechanical rotation.
