SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vehicle control systems. Method for support of vehicle driver, wherein vehicle is driven by at least one drive. Vehicle comprises a control and/or adjustment device, by means of which in main mode, vehicle speed is automatically controlled and/or controlled such that if vehicle exceeds or reaches a certain maximum speed, then at the deceleration step, the vehicle until the speed falls below a certain minimum speed which is less than the maximum speed is changed to a reduced drive state, if vehicle speed drops below certain minimum speed, at acceleration step vehicle is accelerated by means of drive device up to exceeding maximum speed. Drive device during operation is operated essentially with maximum efficiency factor. Maximum speed and/or minimum speed are set and/or adjusted depending on at least one parameter of road and/or traffic.

EFFECT: higher safety of vehicle driving is achieved.
