FIELD: test technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of investigating devices for tightness. Cavity with high requirements to degree of total tightness is filled to test pressure with control gas containing test gas in high concentration. Cavity with low requirements for degree of total tightness is filled to test pressure with control gas not containing test gas, observing restrictions on pressure drop between cavities. Content of test gas in the space surrounding the article is determined, from which the degree of total air-tightness of the cavity with high requirements to the degree of total air-tightness is measured. Simultaneously gas pressure is relieved from both cavities, observing restrictions on pressure drop between cavities. Both chambers are simultaneously evacuated. Both cavities are filled to test pressure with test gas containing test gas in concentration lower than that used to fill the cavity with high requirements for degree of total tightness, observing limitations on pressure drop between cavities. Content of test gas in the space surrounding the article is determined, from which the degree of total tightness of both cavities is measured. Degree of total air-tightness of cavity with low requirements to degree of total tightness is determined as difference between values of degree of total tightness of both cavities and degree of total air-tightness of cavity with high requirements to degree of total tightness.
EFFECT: reduced labor input at measurement of degree of total tightness of multicenter pieces.
