FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used for recognition of pigmented skin growths for assessment of degree of their malignancy. For this purpose, a colour image of pigment spots is obtained from the skin surface using a dermatoscope. Fragments of structures, such as lines, circles, lumps, points and mesh are selected on images. Obtained image areas are analysed based on scanning lines, threshold and binary operations. Structure fragments are recognized by comparison with standards. Based on the spatial-brightness distribution in the fragment, characteristics are measured and numerical vectors of features are formed. Fragments of the structures are classified and quantitative assessments of skin malignancy are stated. On the basis of such estimation, schemes of treatment of patients with skin melanoma are selected.
EFFECT: invention enables quantitative estimation and degree of malignancy of the skin growth with accuracy of 74 % in the patients with skin melanoma according to the formed numerical criteria vectors.
