FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a modified chemical vapor deposition (MCVD) method within a quartz tube support in the technology of making optical fiber (quartz light guide) workpieces, particularly a device for removing oxide microparticles of gas-phase synthesis products of quartz glass. Solved technical problem of present invention is improved design of device for removal of powder wastes. In the proposed device containing a quartz branch pipe, which is hermetically installed coaxially inside the quartz process pipe for withdrawal of reaction products, rod cleaner located inside the offtake tube, and powdery wastes collector, in which, unlike the prototype, the discharge pipe has a hole for output of reaction products into the powdered waste collector. Offtake tube is tightly fixed in collector of powder wastes with possibility of longitudinal movement, and rod cleaner is fixed and has piston for ejection of microparticles. Piston rod cleaner is tightly arranged in the discharge tube and does not prevent its longitudinal movement along the rod cleaner.
EFFECT: avoiding or reducing formation of powdery glass synthesis reaction wastes when making an optical fiber workpiece.
