FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to means of providing possible versions of routes and determination of vehicle position. System for providing possible versions of routes comprises: a data storage module, which stores the paths of multiple vehicles and traffic history information associated with the roads; module for setting current location, which sets current location of vehicle; module for setting possible variants of driving points, which sets possible version of corresponding passage point, wherein the module of setting the possible variants of the driving points selects only those passage points, including the main point of interest, which are located within the specified range of distances between the lower limit distance and the upper limit distance from the current location, regardless of the distance from the current location to the destination of the vehicle; module for extraction of tracks, which extracts from passing ways passageways, which pass through current location and possible version of point of passage; and a route selection module which selects, as a possible version of the route for providing to the vehicle at least one of the travelled tracks extracted by the track extraction module based on the movement history information, associated with the tracks being driven by the track extraction module. Said system is also connected to on-board facility intended to provide possible versions of routes, and also implements corresponding method.

EFFECT: proposed group of inventions provides accurate provision of a possible route from different routes.
