FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ceramic and aviation industry and can be used in machining large-size complex-shaped ceramic articles. Disclosed is a method of machining of large-sized complex-shaped ceramic articles, involving installation of large-size ceramic article on lathe mandrel, grinding outer cylindrical part of article surface and outer spherical part of article surface, finishing to preset thickness of wall and its roughness. Grinding of outer cylindrical part of article surface and outer spherical part of article surface is performed simultaneously in one process pass by assembled disc and shaped circles coaxially fixed on one mandrel, at that, grinding depth of assembly wheel is 0.5–2 mm.
EFFECT: simplification and reduction of duration of machining of large-sized complex-shaped ceramic articles, higher quality of processed articles.
