FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to abrasive processing and can be used in processing of ceramic articles with spherical surface. Method includes installation of article in preset position relative to sphere center and treatment of external surface of article by diamond disk circle with independent rotation of article and circle. Axis of rotation of the circle is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the article, rotation speed of circle is 5,000–7,000 rpm, and depth of cutting is 0.3–1.8 mm.
EFFECT: as a result, the technological capabilities are expanded and the duration of the ceramic articles processing process is reduced while preserving the quality of their surface.
