FIELD: electrical communication engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunication, in particular to devices for evaluating efficiency of information exchange in a communication system with change of its structure. Device comprises units of efficiency measurers-calculators intended to determine current values of efficiency of transmitting information during operation of communication system on main structure and backup structure, comparison circuits designed to compare values of the main and backup structures, switches, controlled keys, memory devices and a difference computer, designed to determine the transition interval of the communication system by performing subtraction between two values of input traffic.

EFFECT: maintaining the required efficiency of information exchange of a communication system in accordance with a predetermined threshold value of information transmission efficiency in an extended interval of change of input traffic (in a pass band) by determining the boundary of structural adaptation of the communication system and the condition of transition from the main to the backup structure and back.
