FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a lighting circuit and a method of controlling a lighting circuit. Result is achieved due to that rectifier (14) has input for AC voltage V. At least first and second LED units (20, 22) are connected to be powered by electric power from rectifier (14). First LED unit (20) is electrically connected to first output (26) of rectifier (14) and is electrically connected in series to input (36) of the pulse converter circuit. Second LED unit (22) is electrically connected to output (48) of pulse converter circuit (44). Control unit (30) is connected to tap (46) in series connection for control process of first LED unit (20).

EFFECT: technical result is providing a lighting circuit having high efficiency of using supplied electrical power.
