TOMOGRAPHY OF BONES IN MAGNETIC RESONANCE TOMOGRAPHY USING INHOMOGENEITY MAP B0 Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01R33/44

Abstract RU 2713806 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: using: for magnetic resonance imaging. Summary of invention consists in the fact that invention provides medical apparatus (100, 500) comprising a magnetic resonance imaging system (102) for obtaining magnetic resonance data (142) from subject (118) in visualization region (108). Magnetic resonance imaging system comprises: main magnet (104) for generating magnetic field B0 in imaging zone; memory (134, 136) comprising computer-executable instructions (160, 162, 164, 166) and pulse train commands (140); processor (130) for controlling a medical device. Execution of machine-executable instructions causes the processor to: obtain (200) magnetic resonance data by controlling the magnetic resonance imaging system using pulse train commands; receive (202) magnetic susceptibility map (144) of a subject; calculating (204) inhomogeneity map B0 (146) from magnetic resonance data; calculate (206) perturbation (148) of magnetic field B0 of the subject from the map of the magnetic susceptibility of the subject; calculate (208) residual magnetic field perturbation (150) B0 by subtracting the perturbation of the magnetic field B0 of the subject from the inhomogeneity map B0; and calculate (210) bone map (152) from residual magnetic field disturbance B0.

EFFECT: technical result is providing the possibility of determining the location of bone tissue using conventional or standard protocols of magnetic resonance tomography.
