FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and is intended for finding the middle of bar-to-bar insulator of collector of electric machine during its procession. Sensor contains an eddy current transducer of transformer type excited by a high-frequency generator and connected at the output with a modulator-detector-demodulator unit. Eddy current transducer is made in the form of two magnetic conductors, the planes of which are parallel shifted by half of the bar width. Magnetic cores are equipped with common excitation winding and measurement windings at each magnetic conductor. Resonant circuits with common capacitor are connected to measurement windings, one plate of which is connected to connection point of these windings, and other – to free ends of latter through electronic switches, control inputs of which are connected antiphase to low-frequency generator with possibility of modulation of envelope signal at output of detector connected to plates of said capacitor.

EFFECT: high sensitivity, reliability in operation and manufacturability of the sensor.
