FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of activated carbon. Method of producing active coal includes grinding initial stems of cotton plant cotton plants into pieces, drying at 100–120 °C, carbonization at 450–500 °C and activation with steam at temperature of 870–900 °C. Carbonization is carried out at a rate of raising temperature of 8–15 °C/min with holding at 450–500 °C for 20–30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention ensures production of coal effective for detoxification of soil contaminated with herbicide simazine (mayazine) residues.
