FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for the production of activated carbon includes carbonation of rice husk, activation with water vapor and cooling. The carbonation is carried out without supplying an inert gas by heating to the temperature of 500-750°C with the exposure at the final temperature for 100-120 minutes. The activation is carried out at 780-800°C with the water vapor flow consumption of 2.0-2.5 kg per 1 kg of the carbonized product.
EFFECT: invention enables to produce from rice husk the fine-grained activated carbon with a high adsorption capacity for iodine and the dye - methylene blue.
