FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science and concerns treating or preventing dogs or cats from being infected with fleas or mites. That is ensured by quarterly administration to an animal of a composition for spot treatment containing 0.1 to 100 mg/kg of body weight of compound of isoxazoline, isoxazoline salt or solvate of isoxazoline or salt of solvate, where isoxazoline compound is 4-[5-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazol-3-yl]-2-methyl-N-[(2,2,2-trifluoroethylcarbamoyl)methyl]benzamide.
EFFECT: invention provides effective control of infection of dogs or cats with fleas or mites.
